Welcome to the wonderful world of Jack's Big Music Show. Kids love the music videos from Jack's Big Music Show. Most parents we speak to also enjoy the music selection from the show. We've put together a list of songs, cd's and artists that are featured, star or make appearances on the show.
We're so glad to start the list off with "I'm So Glad" performed by Jerry Lawson & Talk of the Town. The song is featured on "On The Good Ship Lollipop" cd that Jerry recorded with his previous group The Persuasions. The entire cd is full of harmonic rhythms similar to I'm So Glad and can also be purchased directly from Jerry's Website.
But, if you want to be a grump, that's ok .. because you can find the album 'Grumpy' which includes (what else?) "Grumpy" and other catchy songs from Music for Aardvarks.
The star of Noggin is everyone's favorite, Laurie Berkner whose songs featured in commercials and even her own show Move to the Music With Laurie Berkner are taken from all four of her CDs: Buzz Buzz gives you "Bumblebee (Buzz Buzz)," "Monster Boogie," "I Really Love to Dance," "Clean It Up," and "Pig on Her Head"; Under a Shady Tree has "My Energy," "Running Down the Hill," "Song in My Tummy," "Mister," and "This Hat"; Victor Vito has "I'm Not Perfect" and "Boots"; and Whaddya Think of That? includes "We Are the Dinosaurs," "I'm Gonna Catch You," "I'm Me and You're You," and "I Know a Chicken." Some of these songs are also feature on Laurie's new DVD We are the Laurie Berkner Band.
Dan Zanes is so hip that it would bug if it didn't seem so effortless. His Noggin videos include "Jump Up," "All Around the Kitchen," and "The Good Night Waltz" from Family Dance , "House Party Time" from House Party , and "Hello Hello" from Hello Hello (yes, it's a book, but there's a CD tucked in the back cover).
Road Trip contains the lovely Rebecca Frezza's ditties "B3" (which I always confuse with Laurie Berkner's "Buzz Buzz") and "H2O+02+Sun."
Lisa Loeb collaborates with Elizabeth Mitchell on "Catch the Moon" and "Stop and Go," both from Catch the Moon .
Milkshake has two CDs out so far, with one song from each running on Noggin at the moment: the title track from Bottle of Sunshine and "Scared" from Happy Songs .
Hot Peas 'N Butter ("Number One" & "Deep Down") doesn't have its CDs available for sale on Amazon, but you can get them directly through the band's web site: http://www.hotpeasnbutter.com/purchase.html (the CD with the two Noggin songs on it, "Mo Hotta Mo Butta," is also available for download on iTunes).
The Dirty Sock Funtime Band songs ("Dino-sauring" & "Music Everywhere") are now available for free download on the band web site: http://www.dirtysockfuntimeband.com/main.php?article=getmusic.txt They also have a couple of CDs available here on Amazon, apparently from the musicals they've done in collaboration with kids.
Sweet Honey in the Rock, who make an appearance in Jack's Clubhouse, have three terrific children's CDs that I know of, I got shoes , All for freedom , and Still the Same Me , none of which includes the song they sing on the show "It's Good to Be Me," and gospel diva Yolanda Adams also makes an appearance on the show. Yolanda Adams: 'The Experience'.
Anne Harris, who appears on the show as "Prudence the Music Genie," has a web site anneharris.com as well as a few CDs available on Anne Harris and also is a member of the Cathy Richardson Band (Cathy Richardson is the perky, musical next-door-neighbor Cathy as well as the voice of Jack's mom). The band web site is crband.com and the most recent CD appears to beThe Road to Bliss
"Upside Down," from Sing-A-Longs & Lullabies for the Film Curious George , isn't on Jack's Big Music Show, but Noggin has started airing the video in between programs.
You can also catch all the videos from Jack's Big Music Show on Noggin's website. |
