Set on and beneath the streets of London, Flushed Away is the story of Roddy, an upper-crust "society mouse," who is rather rudely evicted from his Kensington flat when he is flushed down into Ratropolis, the bustling sewer world found under London’s streets. There, he meets Rita, an enterprising scavenger who works the sewers in her faithful boat, the Jammy Dodger. Together they must navigate their way through a busy city filled with dangers for any mouse, including terrifying rapids, treacherous whirlpools and, most of all, the villainous Toad and his hench-rats Spike and Whitey. Though completely out of his element at first, the privileged Roddy finds himself an unlikely hero when he learns that Ratropolis is in danger from the world above.

Aardman & Dreamworks together great success Another great movie from Aardman! Its a classic! Basically it's about a pampered pet rat named Roddy who gets flushed down the toilet by a sewer rat. Roddy meets Rita Malone who is an energetic, sewer rat who owns a boat and a cute redhead family. They go through a lot to get Roddy home including having to defeat a toad and a french frog and his henchfrogs. It might not look appealing on the outside but once you get settled into the movie you'll understand it completely. There are a number of jokes both for adults and children and it doesn't wander off the point of the whole movie. Nice music and great character are also included.
Kate Winslet who plays Rita is fantastic and Hugh Jackman who plays Roddy is brilliant also. Overall: It's a movie for everyone and everyone will get something out of it!
Some things I learnt from it: I have been told that I look like Rita, not in a sewer rat way, but I have the same color hair as Rita and eyes. Isn't that weird? You can't break a real ruby! Who knew? One important thing I learnt from it: Rita's last name is Malone which is an Irish surname! Yay!
Well Done Aardman!!!!& Dreamworks!!!!!
Best movie I ever saw!!! Roddy, a posh rat gets flushed down the loo by Sid, a sewer rat. Roddy finds himself in a sewer city and tries to get back home with the help of Rita, a street smart sewer rat, along the way Roddy and Rita become close friends. (They might become more than just friends!)In the end the movie teaches a lesson and Roddy decides to stay in the sewer city.
Not a classic, but still a fun movie your kids should enjoy A few years ago, any time an animated movie came out, you just new it would be could because so few actually made it to the theaters. Now, there is a new cartoon in the theaters every few weeks, and almost all of them somehow say they are from the creators of "Shrek."
Flushed Away is a PG-rated feature from a studio that focuses on stop-motion clay animation. This movie is a cartoon but retains that feel and also is set in an underground sewer city. Roddy lives a great life as a pet, but gets flushed into the sewer. The movie focuses on Roddy's efforts to get back to the surface. Roddy, voiced by Hugh Jackman, joins with Kate Winslett as they try and outwit the evil frog who has plans to destroy the entire sewer to get rid of all the rats.
The pace of this movie could best be described as frantic. The jokes come fast and furious and non-stop. Some will be hard to understand for the kids because of the British accents of the characters and the content geared toward adults. The slugs in the sewer are the best part of the movie, as they show up at opportune times to comment via song.
This is a kid's movie that adults may just like better than the children.
